Public Service Announcements, or PSAs, are useful for publicizing events the general public is invited to attend, such as dances, workshops, seminars, concerts and lectures. PSAs are usually the domain of non-profit organizations and are used by both radio and television stations.
In towns surrounding a large metropolitan area, getting a PSA to air on major stations, particularly television, is a long shot. It’s the rule of supply and demand in these markets. Instead, try to aim your PSA to the locally owned and operated radio stations and local cable stations that operate video bulletin boards.
